Depending on soil fetility I would go 14-18' on m111, on m106 slightly closer 12-16, both free standing central leader (stake for the first 3-5 years). M26 growers in my area are spacing in the 8-10' range staking with a top tellis wire, still pruning to central leader. What are you doing with your ...

Aphids are tolerable in most cases. Monitor to see if the colonies get very large and you begin seeing several leaves of terminal shoots look as though they are wilting. In that case you should spray w/ pesticide and be sure to get underside of leaves. The earwig idea sounds like a good idea to keep...
