I have crab apples by early june even in zone6! I do not think I could mess with something that bloomed in feb though... we get frosts till at least april if not throughout

Standard trees grown from seed, they will take around 8-12 years to mature. Also, Jonnagold is not a satisfactory pollinator! Unless you have a semi-self pollinating cultivar (Granny Smith is not unfortunatly), you are going to need either a good pollinator -or- a crab apple tree ( for both of your ...
