Permanent tree labels

Post by Shakerhill »

I am looking for a supplier of permanent tree labels (really permanent, not a season or two).

Obviously cheap too.

I need 400+

Any ideas?

Cut strips out of aluminum cans with tin snips, & scribe the description with a sharp awl, nail, etc. Poke a hole in each, and hang with aluminum or stainless wire.

I was thinking about buying a p touch label maker and sticking those on to pawapaw rose tall labels as I have heard they last a long time. I will try that and let you know how it works. I know some people who swear by it.

I have soda-can labels out in the weather since 1993, they are still in good condition. Wire does wear them out a bit though, so i have switched over to that thick plastic baling twine. At least it does not wear the metal out as the label swings in the wind.

The labels themselves should last 100 years, don't you think?
