While researching this apple I read that it seams to very susceptible to disease and biennial. I was wondering if there were some better more disease resistant alternatives to this apple that still much retain the flavor (and hopefully not biennial), similar to how the Kidd's Orange Red is a good alternative to the Cox Orange Pippen.
Any recommendations?

Calville Blanc is susceptible to cedar rust. Mine was hit the just three months after I planted it. Saved it by spraying with Bordeaux spray. What are you using? MY other trees seem to have some resistance to cedar rust.

It's quite a vigorous variety and can be productive even if it picks up a few disease problems. Biennialism can usually be managed by preventing over-cropping, e.g. by heavy thinning of the fruitlets after the blossom finishes.
