Michigan Orchards out there?

Post by Greyt.Chase »

I've made a pretty long list of apples that i'd like to try. Anyone out there in Michigan have some interesting apples growing in your orchard? I'm in the Mid-Michigan area but am willing to drive a bit for something interesting.

Anyone else here in the Great Lakes State?

Greyt.Chase,

Where in mid-Michigan do you reside? Eastman Antique Apples is in Wheeler and has over a thousand varieties. They sell their apples at the Midland (and also Flint I believe) Farmers Markets on Saturdays.

I have been lucky enough to get to know the owners and have been able to visit their orchard multiple times. I always get to try a handful of varieties I've never tasted before!

Actually, Eastman's isn't too far from where I live. They are about a mile from my Aunt and Uncle's house. I've emailed them but had no response and their blog hasn't been updated since November. Eastman's has a ton of varieties that I want to try!
