Scion Wood

Post by goodrich apples »

Hello,
I have 21 rootstocks left and need more scion wood. Prefer red fleshed varieties and disease resistant varieties but would consider most anything. I am from central Iowa, USA.

Thank You!

They have a couple Red Fleshed apples here and pretty much anything else you could want.

Try the Scarlet Surprise and the Pink Pearl both for sauce.

I've tasted them and I do believe I liked the Pink Pearl just a little bit more. You can also find some great crabapples out there with red flesh or at least deep dark red skins that will generate a nicely colored and flavored sauce or jelly. Look into Dolgo and Kerr, although there are no doubt dozens if not hundreds of options on crabapples, if you are at all interested. Perhaps Wickson.
