Ananas Reinette

My three year old tree flowered heavily this year. This tree has nice compact growth habit. After three years it is only five feet high (when I planted it was about 3 feet). Trunk is already 2 inch thick at the base. All branches are at about 1 cm in diameter. Each branch and trunk have been covered thickly with dark green leaves. One of my favorite apple trees.

The numerous flowers this year formed directly along the branches, on spurs, and tips. Nice display and will post pictures soon.

Here are two pictures of the flowers. Had to prune out a lot of set fruit.

Ananas Reinette is a strong grower/resilient and does not require the attention of my other trees. The only thing that seems to bother it are ants forming aphid colonies on the new growth.
