Young Orchard

Post by wiltbk421 »

I planted 6 whips of older varieties in my backyard this spring and I am pleased with their growth to date, but would like to mention the extreme growth of a Black Gilliflower [ Sheepnose].
This is a very vigorous tree, and one would think this to be a 3rd year tree now. Is this common for this variety?
My others consist of Golden Delicious,Grimes Golden,Smokehouse,Chenango Strawberry,Honeycrisp and Cox's Orange Pippin.
My personal favorite is the grimes, I love those apples!
