I've got a couple of apple trees closer to the house that my grandparents planted many years ago. One of these trees bears a smooth round green apple with a shiny skin, small white "freckles" all over the apples and just a little bit of a red blush. Flesh is white and tart. The tree is loaded with apples and just starting to drop on the ground now (early Sept). Has to be a slightly hardy variety as I am in East Central Wisconsin, Zone 4.
Any ideas?
