Halared semi dwarf apple tree

We just planted a Halared semi-dwarf apple tree. It has about 20 apples on the tree and it looks beautiful. Please can you tell me at this juncture how to handle this tree to bring the fruit all the way to my dinner plate in the Fall!!!

By just planted, do you mean last year? If your tree is 3 years old or less I would recommend removing all the apples. In the long run the tree will be much stronger. You want the first few years of the tree's energy going into the root system and scaffold branches, not into a crop of apples.
