Hi there!
New member :)

I've been chatting to someone who bought some Beauty of Bath today and it brought me right back to my childhood in the 60's.

My favourite apple was the little Beauty of Bath - how it's flesh bruised pink when bitten - it was just the right size for my small hand - and remembering how I howled at the onset of the Common Market when all my mother seemed to find were bloated Golden delicious and Granny Smith or hard skinned reds.

I've never seen one since. And I'm now on the hunt!

Brogdale has it in England. I bet they send out tons of scionwood every winter. You should dialog with them to get some and find some rootstocks for sale. Then you can make several copies of the tree and give the extras away as gifts :)

LINK to Brogdales.

Hello Larry,

I called Bernwode about ordering their catalog and wound up staying on the phone for quite a while talking to the "English" Derek. He sent me their catalog as well as some other literature on Apple Day in the UK and different UK cider organizations as well as efforts to save historic English apples.

They have a great catalog, almost like a history book.

Talk to you later,

Derek

Derek,

Do they have interesting apple scions that you cannot get from Oregon?

I happen to know that some specimens arrive stateside labeled as lumber samples, no commercial value!

You could try the Keepers Nursery website. It's in Kent, but they should be able to ship to Belfast. I bought 2 Beauty of Bath trees from them for my orchard 16 years ago. I also have fond memories of picking this variety in the late 60's.
