 Post subject: apple tree transferring to pot roots question

Hi, new here and with a quick question.

I pulled out aLord Lambourne (M26) and a Reine de Reinette (M9) from an orchard, to transfer them to pots where I'll keep them for 2 years from now before. They are relative young and small right now. It took me 45 minutes and by the time I planted them, the roots were already brown(er) than white. I know that is not good but what effect has this?

I doubt that will do any harm. I would use the largest possible pots you can find if you want to keep them safely for several years.
