 Post subject: Info needed on m26 cordon apple varieties suitable

Hi all orange pippin members,

I'm looking for a bit of advice on Cordon Apple tree varieties for my area in north west uk my soil type is free draining and the trees will get full sun all day,

This is a list of trees available to me

Greensleeves
Egremont Russet
Arthur Turner
Lord Lambourne
Reverend W. Wilks
Falstaff
Red Windsor
pear Concorde

These all look suitable for your area, apart from the Falstaff, which is prone to scab in wetter climates.

M26 is quite vigorous for a cordon, M9 rootstock might be a better choice.
