Hi, Rich. What varieties to plant will depend largely on where you are...if you're in a colder zone, you probably wouldn't want to rely on Granny Smith or Pink Lady, since they don't tolerate cold weather as well as, say, Manitoba Spy. Irish Peach

Does anyone know where I can find hardiness information for the Irish Peach apple tree? It sounds like an interesting variety, but I'm not sure it would survive winters here in northern WI (USDA zone 4).

I would disagree that IdaRed has a bad taste. It isn't my favorite, but I wouldn't call it bad. :) Golden Russet is a really nice one that I would think do well for you. Fameuse (Snow Apple), Northern Spy, Northwest Greening, and Cortland should also be hardy enough for Ontario. (I'm guessing you're...
