small apples

Post by Bob »

I had a lot of apples on my trees this year, in fact it was a bumper crop, but on several trees there were too many apples, so they were too small, I would like to grow bigger apples, and not all those small ones. Is there something I can do so I won't have so many small apples?
Thank you

Small apple problem

Thin apples within 40 days after petal fall to get a larger crop and encourage bloom for next year.

Thin the apples to one every 6-8 inches. Preferably no not leave doubles, with a heavy set you sometimes have to remove all the apples from a spur.
