Can some apple trees out grow susceptibility to rust?

Post by PA_Docent »

When I planted my Muscat de Bernay three years ago and Tremlett's Bitter two years ago, they had stunted growth and affected heavily by cedar rust. However this year, I assume they adapted to the soil and weather here and have finally set some good growth. Even though both of these were affected by cedar rust, this year they were unscathed.

Can some apple trees outgrow susceptibility to cedar rust?

Will post pictures soon.

Maybe the question to ask is: can all apples be induced to be host to diseases if kept in an unhealthy state?

Just sayin' :-)

Interesting to think about though!
