rootstock for heavy clay
I have started a few trees, but, am looking for the best rootstock for heavy clay, I'm in southeast missouri, the Liberty and Pristine are doing good so far (3yrs)
Re: rootstock for heavy clay
Try apples grafted on M111 rootstock.

I agree. My apple trees are growing well on M111 in southern CA with heavy clay soil as well.
Re: rootstock for heavy clay
I also have trees on M26 stock that do well in clay soils. It takes about three to four years before they start bearing fruit though.
