The Eskimo Apple Tree

Post by skubbs »

 I have an apple tree in the yard which leafs out and blooms in February. This is Upstate SC, but it is still cold here, and while the leaves survive, the blooms die. This tree then blooms again later, when it is warmer, and the blooms survive. It produces a very nice size and tasty apple. This tree was here when I moved in. My other apple trees, which I planted, are still dormant at this time. Has anyone heard of an apple tree basically blooming in the winter?
