Apple called "The Doctor"

Hi, can anyone find any info for an apple called "The Doctor"? Early, block red, darkish maroon red, puffy flesh similar to McInotsh, sweet, falling off ripe in early February in New Zealand. I have one branch left from scionwood obtained in New Zealand in the 1970s, probably from a DSIR Government Research Orchard. Just wondering how hard I try to save it. Have never found it online.
