Tree identification

Hello.
I have just bought a house that might have 2 apple trees in the garden. I had planned on planting an apple but will choose another type of tree if these are apples. But I can’t identify them using the websites I’ve tried. There is no fruit on the trees. I thought there were two small-ish green apples on the ground when we first viewed the house, but there was no sign a few weeks later. The former owner was not contactable.
I’d appreciate any help anyone can give me.
The trees are what I believe is called ballerina shape, tall columns. They seem young. They have slender, smooth trunks. I have photos but I can’t see how to post them.
Thank you for any help!
